Along with solo performance of each kata, three applications of technique per kata will also be demonstrated with a partner. (One application per kata for juniors.) We will continue to cover these leading up to grading.
Kumite requirements
The kumite (sparring) portion of grading will test students under a variety of conditions such as close range defence, evasive defence, multiple attacker defence and more. The intensity and amount of kumite will depend of the student level.
There will of course be many push-ups involved as well. Black belt requires 50 knuckle push-ups.
If there are any questions, please reach out.
