About Enso Karate

The core teaching of Enso Karate is self-defence, with a focus on the application of traditional karate kata.

At Enso Karate, we want everyone to feel safe and free to be who they are. We celebrate diversity and difference and understand that everybody needs to participate in a way that works for them. So if you or your child are a little shy or anxious, need to take lots of breaks, feel like spinning around for a while or need to make some cool sounds during class, you can go right ahead.

We offer classes for kids, teens and adults with day time classes to suit homeschool families as well as after school hours classes. We welcome both disabled and non-disabled people and are LGBTQIA+ friendly. We are committed to ensuring that anyone who wants to learn karate can do so.

Karate is for everyone!

Instructor Ash Prime has been doing martial arts since he was 5 years old. Over the years he has trained in Judo, Taekwondo, Capoeria, Jojutsu, Shaolin Kung Fu and Shito-Ryu Karate. He is also a certified kettlebell and steel mace trainer.

Ash is a homeschool dad and started Enso Karate to share karate with his local community in Ipswich. He has a passion for and experience with teaching people of all abilities.

At Enso Karate, you can be assured that Ash doesn’t use shaming or take an aggressive teaching style with his students. Instead, he is friendly, patient and kind and his students find him really approachable. Add a subheading
